Rubber Duck in Beijing

Rubber Duck is a series of artworks created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, Inspired by the shape of this classic bathtub toy. The visual symbol of the Giant Rubber Duck can inspire people to recall their own childhood memories, epitomizing an experience of growing up and an emotional feeling shared by all human beings.

Since the birth of the first "Rubber Duck" in 2007, from Amsterdam, as of August 2014, Hofman’s art work has visited 22 cities in 13 countries and regions . The Rubber Duck has received much attention wherever it has gone, and has brought great commercial benefits to the local tourism and retail industries.

During the 2013 Beijing Design Week, the Rubber Duck was displayed at Beijing Garden Expo Park and Summer Palace as an "Art Gift" from the government of Amsterdam-the guest city of Beijing Design Week 2013.
