To further facilitate the formation of a network among various design platforms in China and enhance communication; externally promote 'Chinese Design' as an overarching concept internationally, aiming to build a high-level national sector on international industry and major professional platforms. Jointly initiated by WDW (World Design Weeks ) and ICoD (International Council of Design), the 'China Design-Outlook2024 ', co-planned and organized by Shanghai Design Week, along with Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Suzhou, and other city design weeks, was successfully held on the evening of January 6th in Shanghai.

The organizers of various Chinese city design weeks, including Beijing Design Week, Shenzhen Design Week, Shanghai Design Week, Suzhou Design Week, Chengdu Creative Design Week, Wuxi Eco-design Festival (planned), gathered in Shanghai with representatives from China&Design@Milan Design Week, representatives of international design awards in China, curators of Design Spring, along with renowned Chinese designers, design educators, and editors from design media. Together, they envisioned a new landscape for Chinese design in 2024.

At the beginning of 2024, several leading international design platforms proactively extended invitations to Chinese design, proposing the idea of featuring a dedicated 'China Section' on these global stages. For instance, Milan extended an invitation to Chinese design, aiming to establish a new platform 'China&Design' within the framework of Milan Design Week.
